Students from Furze Down School in Winslow and Wendover School learnt all about throwing a line when they were given lessons in fly-fishing by the Aylesbury Branch of the Masonic Trout and Salmon Fishing Club.
On Friday 29th September. Learning support assistants from Furze Down, Doug Rolfe and Lesley Dargavel accompanied the mixed group of Year 9, Year 11 and sixth formers to Church Hill Fishery in Mursley.
They were also entertained by members of the Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service who allowed them to use the hose.
Head of Sixth Form at Furze Down School, Colin Ralph said “ They got a good out of the fishing. One of the students caught a trout and enjoyed it with her family for dinner. They enjoyed being in a different environment.”
